Nelson RubioLIVING HAPPY

Hello to Everyone,

Since my Ordination and Thanksgiving Mass in Hot Springs Village on December 16th and 17th, 2017, my life has changed a great deal.  I would like to share with you how I have been spending my time as a priest.

First, I am continuing to discover even more the importance of prayer.  They are necessary to sustain my life.  Without them, I would not exist.  Prayer is essential to managing my pain and also allows me to support others.  I believe in the power of prayer.  I know that this life is thanks to many people like you, who prayed for me when I was in the hospital.

Secondly, Mass is the perfect sacrifice for us, when Jesus comes to us as a Lamb and also as victim.  I should do well because I represent a Jesus who is among us.  A priest is another Christ in this World.  I did not realize that as soon as ordained that I was a Priest, yes, I am a priest forever as Melchizadek.....Offering Masses for all those who are sick or people in need, and y'all are always on my altar.

Another aspect that I value in my ministry is confessions, where I have the opportunity to help people to see and witness God's mercy; I am here to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.  My job is share with all people that our Father's mercy is within us and we cannot forget this.  I cannot judge anyone because Jesus did not.  Jesus loves you and I try to show this to people with a simple smile during the confession.

I have also spent time talking and consoling people.  Many people need to talk with a person or a priest.  When I hear "Father, I need to talk with you, I need help," I move immediately.  I'm here for those in need because a single word can change a moment of their life....

Finally, I must say that as a priest I know that God is always with me.  I want to thank God.  As you know, with my condition, there are some days I simply can't do as much as I would like.  Even on those days, I am certain that God is sustaining me while still allowing me to help others.  I know that this sacrament is not mine, so I can't focus on what I want.  I am called to duty.  This sacament belongs to the Church, a gift that I hold in my hands, to protect and share.  Thank so much to support my vocation and my priesthood.  Please continue praying for me and for my family.  Venezuela is passing through a terrible situation.
